The Holy Plot is where secular meets sacred as we explore theology through the lens of story. There is no ‘bad’ book; there are only books that portray evil in the world—injustice, damaged and toxic relationships, violence and war, and self-destructive behaviours.
The Holy Plot is where we explore works of fiction (usually fantasy) and the implicit theologies embedded within. We peel back the layers of the story to engage more deeply with themes of humanity, redemption, suffering, the nature of evil, hope, community, love, and justice.
Every story tells us something about humanity, and therefore something about God, too. As we grapple with what it means to be human in this fractured world, we see where God’s shining redemption breaks through.
